Media Management. A big effort was spent developing a site for the Ecological Society. The site promotes ecology and ecological issues to the public and does this effectively through 'Hot topics'. This is a successful collaborative media management system. Hot topics are suggested by members and distributed for review and to source research articles to substantiate the topic. The topic is then published and sent to a media list. The result is topical, scientific and informative articles. The articles look great, and are written in a compelling way as a response to popular media stories.
Membership. The Ecological Society has a highly capable Customer Relationship Management - Constituent in the terminology of CIviCRM. This allows members to subscribe and renew online and provides the basis of online services - of which there are many - to members. The Society has the capability to reduce 'drop out' by contacting members who have lapsed.
A groups system 'Resource Chapters' provides a set of services including organistion of field trips, co-working on topics of interest and sharing of job offers within a community of interest.
Meeting System. The Ecological Society also has had developed an internal management system. This includes a 'meeting management' system that formalises and automates society meetings in an open and transparent way. Meetings are scheduled, invites sent, agenda items collected before the pre-meeting embargo. During the meeting, previous action items are reviewed, minutes are taken and new action items created. The minutes are able to be downloaded by all meeting invitees and an abridged version distributed to members of the society. This meeting system would be appropriate for any society that has a format meeting system. MountainRiver CMS has provided an online version of the system, making it available as a service on interlated.net.
YogaPass is interesting as a network of Yoga teachers. It promises customers who travel with 'yoga anywhere', e.g. Truck Drivers on the move that need to get out of the cab for a break. A range of coupon style solutions are provided. Buy a coupon that is redeemable at 100s of places and an affiliate network that allows yoga centres to sell coupons that are more 'portable' - enable their members to keep doing yoga when not near their local yoga centre.
A commerce shop, selling yoga items is another service of the site.
Academy of Surfing
The Academy of Surfing provides accreditation and training programs for surf schools. They include a store and affiliate system supporting members and a directory of affiliated surfing, padding and bodyboard schools.
Colong Foundation for Wilderness
Colong Foundation for Wilderness received a pro-bono site from MountainRiver CMS. This was an example of a system that we could roll out rapidly meeting the organisations needs for membership management, online organising and publishing effectively. Hilights include:
